CAN Commends Military Operations in Yobe

The Bishop of the Diocese of Damaturu (Anglican Communion), Association of Nigeria (CAN) Yobe State and Bishop of the Diocese of Damaturu (Anglican Communion), The Rt. Rev. Yohannah Audu, has commended the officers and troops of Sector 2 OPHK for their commitment, sacrifice, and hard work in delivering some measure of peace and stability to Yobe State.

The Rt. Rev. Yohannah Audu gave tge commendation when he paid a visit to Major General Mayirenso Lander David Saraso, Commander of Sector 2 Joint Task Force (JTF) North East Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) at the Sector Headquarters in Yobe State’s Damaturu.

Expressing his gratitude for the welcoming greeting he received while there, Bishop Audu also wished for improved connections, more assistance, and better cooperation from the Sector.

Responding, the Sector Commander thanked His Lordship for coming during the visit and expressed his gratitude for the spiritual dedication and support the Christian Association of Nigeria gives to the Sector and the troops under its command. Major General Saraso stressed the Nigerian Army’s policy of encouraging religious freedom and avoiding religious intolerance or discord. 

He gave His Lordship the reassurance that the Sector will continue to provide the people with the assistance they require, helping with continuing operations and initiatives to help the towns go back to normal.

He noted that the visit by the CAN Yobe State Chapter Chairman shows how much they value the military in fostering regional peace, stability, and peaceful coexistence, and  important for the military and local communities to work together to ensure security and well-being.
