The Nigerian Army has conducted 6 Division Inter Brigade Combat Proficiency competition 2023, aimed to hone the skills of Nigerian Army Officers from basic abilities required to function optimally in the field.
2 Brigade Nigerian Army Uyo has emerged Best overall in the just concluded 6 Division Inter Brigade Combat Proficiency competition 2023 held at 6 Battalion Wellington Bassey Barracks Abak, Akwa Ibom State.
The event was to hone the skills of Nigerian Army Officers from basic abilities required to function optimally in the field.
The contingents of the competition were Officers drawn from Units and Formations in under 6 Division Nigerian Army.
The participating Fomations includes 6 Division Garrison, 2 Brigade, 16 Brigade and 63 Brigade respectively. The competition activities which was keenly competed for included, Map Reading/point to point, Skill at Arms/ Firing, combat Swimming, 5 Kilometer Combat Race and Obstacle Crossing.
The special guest of honour, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 6 Division and Land Component Commander Joint Task Force South South Operation Delta Safe, Major General JH Abdussalam, ably represented by 6 Division Training Officer, Brig Gen MI Lawan, disclosed that the level teamwork, determination, skills and professionalism displayed by participants was applauded.
The Representative of the GOC further noted that personnel of the Nigerian Army should continue to train to develop the required capabilities in troops to handle every challenge thrown at them by the security dynamics.
He urged the participants to put what they have garnered from the contest into their operational tasks and urged other contestants not to despair but to work harder to ensure they perform better in future competitions.
