'Uphold High Standard Set by Army War College of Nigeria in Pursuit of Excellence' - Maj. General Alabi

The ougoing Commandant of the Army War College of Nigeria, Major General Bamidele Alli Alabi has urged the staff of the college to redouble their efforts in their pursuit of excellence, emphasizing the importance of upholding the high standards set by the AWCN.

General Alabi gave this charge during a heartfelt send-off ceremony organised by the college in his honour, held at the TY Buratai Auditorium of the college on Friday, June 30th, 2023, which brought together staff members, colleagues, and well-wishers to express their gratitude and bid farewell to the esteemed military leader. 

In his remarks, Major General Alabi expressed deep appreciation for the unwavering support and cooperation he received from the entire AWCN staff during his tenure. 

He acknowledged their dedication and commitment to uplifting the college's standards, noting that their collective efforts were instrumental in achieving numerous milestones.

He also called on them to extend their utmost support to the incoming Commandant, Major General Ishaya Buba Maina, highlighting the significance of continuity and a seamless transition in the institution's leadership.

Brigadier General UM Alkali, the Deputy Commandant/Director of Studies AWCN, expressed his appreciation for General Alabi's exemplary leadership and listed the remarkable achievements made during his command. 

He commended the outgoing Commandant for his visionary approach, which propelled the college to new heights and enhanced its reputation as a center of excellence in military education.

Brigadier General Alkali further extended warm wishes on his new appointment as the General Officer Commanding 1 Division Nigerian Army, expressing confidence in his ability to excel in his new role. 

He emphasized that General Alabi's legacy would continue to inspire and guide the AWCN community in their ongoing pursuit of knowledge and professional development.

Highlights of the ceremony were the presentation of souvenirs and gift items by the Deputy Commandant/Director of Studies and the Course President on behalf of the entire members of Course 7/2023, amongst others.
