A non governmental organisation, Prayer and Support for the Nigerian Armed Forces and other Security Agencies, PSNAFSA has called for more improved in the welfare of security personnel which should be considered as top priority by Tinubu's administration.
Convener, Mrs Mary Abayomi- Fatile in a press statement said the welfare especially, the plight of widows and children of personnel who paid the supreme price, as well as the condition of dilapidated barracks which affects the moral and efficiency of the foot soldiers.
While congratulating the 16th President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu , for this epoch making day of a peaceful and successful transition of power between presidents, amidst apprehension, speculation and drama that heralded this day, hoped that the inauguration of this administration will bring hope , optimism and relief from the near-hell hardships most Nigerians have been going through.
"It is also gladdening to note that security was highlighted as the top priority of this administration, in the inaugural speech of the President, "she said.
PSNAFSA therefore appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu -led administration to keep the promise of defending the nation from terror and all forms of criminality that threaten its peace and stability to the latter , by giving the Police, Nigerian Armed Forces and other Security agencies maximum support to effectively subdue terrorists that have plagued the country and reduced the worth of human life abysmally.
Nigerians eagerly look forward to a holistic reform of the security architecture under the watch of President Tinubu , that will address the current multi-facet security challenges , translating to an improved socio- economical development of Nigeria and reposition Nigeria to its place as the pride of the African continent.
As a group , we are poised to work with state actors and the new administration on empowerment programmes for a defined and proactive steps aimed at redefining public perspective of our security agents.
