May 29 Inauguration: Meet Military Parade Adjutants, Guard and Sub-Guard Commanders, Compere Others

 

The presidential inauguration is a ceremony to mark the commencement of a new four-year term and from independence, Nigeria has had “six substantive presidents and a president-elect”.

The six presidents were Nnamdi Azikiwe (1963-1966); Shehu Shagari (1979-1983); Olusegun Obasanjo (1999-2007); Umaru Musa Yar’adua (2007-2009); Goodluck Jonathan (2009-2015) and Muhammadu Buhari (2015-2023).

The memorable event could not have been in orderly sessions without the professionalism of Officers and men of the Nigeria Armed Forces and Nigeria Police Force, compered by Captain Godfrey Anebi Abakpa, Flt Lt Festus Ezenyi and Lt Odunayo Olokadana.

Therefore, SpyeTV Defence Correspondent and Senior Editor unveils Officiating Officers, Parade Adjutant, Commanders, Parade Second in Command, Guard and Sub guard Commanders and ofcourse coordinated by Commander Guards Brigade, Brig Gen Aminu Umar.

The Parade Adjutant, Squadron Leader Usman Baba Sambo who is riding on male Sudanese Horse named Umar.

Also, Parade Second in Command Lieutenant Commander Kuzayet Yali Kaza seated on a Dongola breed Horse named Yahaya after the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Faruk Yahaya.

Parade Adjutant Army: Lt Col Salim Yusuf Hassan

Lt Col Salim Yusuf Hassan was born on 6 May 1984 in Kano Town. He hails from Fagge Local Government Area of Kano State. He attended Kano Capital School for his primary education and later Nigerian Military School Zaria, Kaduna before gaining admission into the Nigerian Defence Academy as a member of 53 Regular Course in September 2001. He bagged a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Nigerian Defence Academy in 2005 and was commissioned into the Nigerian Army as a Second Lieutenant on 29 September 2006.

Lt Col SY Hassan is of the Nigerian Army Infantry Corps and has attended all courses commensurate to his rank. These courses include Young Officers Course Infantry and Mortar Platoon Commanders Course at Nigerian Army School of Infantry, Jaji, Young Officers Course Armour at Nigerian Army Armoured School Bauchi and Warrior Leaders Course at the Warrant Officers Academy Jaji

He also attended Infantry Company Commanders Course at the Army War College India. Additionally, he had his junior and Senior Staff Courses at the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College and Defence Services Command and Staff College Bangladesh respectively.

Lt Col Hassan also attended the Security Sector Reforms Course at the Austrian Study Centre for Peace and Conflict Resolution in Austria. He also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Public Administration from Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration as well as Master's Degree in Military Studies and strategy from the Bangladesh University of Professionals in 2016.

Lt Col Hassan's career experience spans command, staff and instructional appointment. Some of the appointments he held are; Pl Comd at 4 Gds Bn, Admin Officer at Guards Brigade Garrison and S03 G7 (Trg) at HQ Guards Brigade. Others are Acting Senior Instructor Officer Cadet Training Wing at the Nigerian Army School of Infantry, SO 2 Exercises at AHQ DATOPS, Military Assistant to the Chief of Training and Operations(Army) and Commanding Officer (Rear) 3 Bn Warri.

He was also a Directing Staff at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College before his posting to the prestigious 7 Guards Battalion. Lt Col SY Hassan took over the Command of 7 Gds Bn on 2 Feb 21. He is happily married and the union is blessed with 3 children. At his leisure, he enjoys reading, horse riding and playing football.

Parade Adjutant Airforce: Squadron Leader Usman Baba Sambo

Squadron Leader Usman Baba Sambo was born 6 Mar 1992 and hails from Potiskum Local Govt Area of Yobe State. He attended Leaders Private School Damaturu and later got admission to Kampala University Uganda where he got his BSc in Computer Science and Information Technology. 

He was Shortlisted into the Nigerian Airforce as a member of Direct Regular Course 27 in 2017. Squadron Leader Usman Baba Sambo has attended numerous courses commensurate to his rank, one of which is IT Officers course. 

The officer has held numerous appointments, some of which includes, OC Fire Squadron, movement Officer and currently IT Support officer. He is married and the marriage is blessed with a child. His hobbies include Reading, Public speaking, watching and playing football.

Parade Adjutant Navy: Lt commander Kuzajet Yall Kazan

Lt commander Kuzajet Yall Kazan was bom on 26 April 1969 and hals from Zango Kattal lacol Govt of Kaduna Stat. He did his primary education at Airforce primary school Port-Harcourt. He also attended Airforce Secondary school Kaduna where he obtained his senior secondary school certificate. 

He graduated from the prestigious Martine Academy of Nigeria Oron Akwa Ibom State in March 2013. He was shorised into the Nigerian Navy as a member of Direct Regular Course 23 on 9 March 2016 His hobbies includes swimming reading and volleyball

Parade Second in Command

Parade Second in Command, Lieutenant Commander kuzayet Yali Kaza seated on a Dongola breed Horse named Yahaya after the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Faruk Yahaya.

Conducting Warrant Officer 

The conducting Warrant Officer for this parade is Warrant Officer Abubakar Mani. He was born on 23 May 1976 in Bedi Town and hails from Rafin Zuru district Zuru Local Govt Area of Kebbi State He was enlisted into the Nigerian Army on 21 Oct 1996 as a member of 43 regular intake. He is married and the union is blessed with children.

Some significant parades and bugle calls at the 29 May Presidential Inauguration signified the officers call. This call is usualy sounded to alert the guard and sub guard commanders to march and take their pestors in front of the salting das and awal the parade second in command to order them to fall in with their guards.

Service Chiefs, Chief Executive of Parastatals, Chairmen of Statutory Commissions, Heads of Para-Military and Security Agencies and Perm Sec of Federal Ministries, and Well meaning Nigerians graced the swearing in ceremony of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the 16th Nigeria's President and Grand Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
