Army Trains 133 Soldiers on Modern Driving and Catering Services, Inaugurates Basic Second Quarter Courses 2023

The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 1 Division Nigerian Army and Force Commander Operation Whirl Punch Major General OT Akinjobi has inagurated 133 students for Basic Second Quarter Courses 2023 at the 71 Supply and Transport Brigade Kaduna State.

The GOC who was represented by the Division Training Officer Brigadier General Anthony Wende inaugurated students 85 Soldiers for Driving Course and 48 Soldiers for Basic Catering Course respectively.

In his remarks, the representative of the GOC charged all students to take advantage of their nominations and ensure they develop their skills in their respective course as it is an avenue for nominated personnel to be trained in order to discharge their roles as professional drivers and caterers in the Nigeria Army.

He further reinstated that, It is better to sweat more in peace time and bleed less in war as the crisis in the country would require movement of vehicles and food for personnels. He therefore urged the students to be very determined to make the best of their time.

Earlier in his welcome address, The Commander 71 Supply and Transport Brigade, Colonel WA Bakare stated that the courses are aimed at making participants proficient and up to date in modern driving and catering services, as the Brigade has capable instructors, resource persons and platforms which is ready to give the necessary training to the participants.

He also charged the students to maintain high standard of discipline, stressing that the Brigade has a conducive environment for learning.

He expressed his appreciation to the GOC for approving and providing all training support and logistics requirements to run the courses despite the limited resources and solicited for more support in other to make the Brigade more conducive for the students.
