12 Kidnapped Victims Rescued by Troops of Operation Hadarin Daji in Zamfara



Troops of Joint Task Force (North - West) Operation Hadarin Daji (OPHD) have recorded another milestone in the ongoing Counter Terrorism Operations in Zamfara by neutralizing scores of terrorists and rescuing kidnapped victims following well - coordinated clearance operations across the State recently. 

The source told the YATAB Network, an NGO, focused on the counter terrorism and anti-banditry campaign in Africa, that during one particular operation, troops located and destroyed several bandit camps within localities such as Alasanawa, Kayawa, Mai-Zuma, Dutsi, Dogon Gandu, Girari Mai Kuka and Maiwa.

According to the source, "troops also cleared  Asarara, Gabawuri, Tungan Danmada, Baje, Ruwaje, Atarawa, Zungo and Maniya Villages, all in Shinkafi Local Government Area of Zamfara State."

"During exploitation, troops rescued 10 hitherto kidnapped persons while sole motorcycles belonging to their captors were destroyed. The rescued persons were thereafter handed over to the civil police for medical attention."

"In a related development, troops deployed at Magami, came in contact with heavily armed terrorists at Kango village and Gobirawan Chali during an aggressive fighting patrol, following actionable intelligence reports on their activities within the vicinity."

"The daring troops engaged the hapless terrorists, neutralizing some and inflicting severe injuries on several others. The troops thereafter proceeded to dominate the Damsadau -  Hannutara highway where they made contact with another heavy force of terrorists at Maigungume village."

"The dogged troops tactically deployed and engaged the terrorists with direct-aimed fire, forcing them to beat a hasty retreat into the surrounding forest."

"2 kidnapped victims were also rescued in the process", the source further added.
