Troops of Sector 3 Operation Hadin Kai deployed at Charamari, Monguno, in the wee hours of today, foiled an attempt by Boko Haram Terrorists to overrun the Forward Operating Base (FOB).
This was disclosed to the YATAB Network by an intelligence source earlier this afternoon. The source told the YATAB Network that "At about 0156 hrs, ( 1:56am) today 7th April 2023, an unconfirmed number of Boko Haram Terrorists tried to overrun our Forward Operating Base at Charamari (Charlie 7) Monguno."
"Deployed troops, aided by reinforcement from the Cantonment, repelled the terrorists and thwarted the attack. Thereafter troops and hybrid forces combed the general area in search of the attackers but they had already fled in disarray"
"However blood trails from the wounded terrorists were observed along their withdrawal route"
