NAOWA President Commissions Centre, Unveils NAOWA Ceremonial Attire in Kaduna

The President, Nigerian Army Officers' Wives Association (NAOWA), Mrs Salamatu Faruk Yahaya on 8 April 2023 commissioned the newly constructed and equipped NAOWA Centre at Ribadu Cantonment, Kaduna.

In her remarks, Mrs Yahaya, who was the Special Guest of Honour applauded the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 1 Division Nigerian Army Maj Gen TA Lagbaja for his unflinching and tremendous support to the Association in ensuring the full implementation of the programmes and activities of NAOWA. 

She noted, that despite the GOC's tight schedule and engagements considering the exigencies of military operations in Kaduna state and its environs, he was able to support his darling wife, Mrs Mariya Abiodun Lagbaja in carrying out the construction of the Association"s Centre. She also commended the effort of Mrs Lagbaja for setting the pace in the Division and wished her well in all her future endeavours. 

Earlier in her remarks, the Chairperson NAOWA 1 Division, Mrs Mariya Abiodun Lagbaja stated that the project was well conceived and constructed to address the challenges of office space and enhance the implementation of NAOWA activities and programmes within the Division. 

She thanked the GOC for graciously supporting the construction of the befitting edifice consisting of a fully equipped hall and office space for the chairperson and her staff with state of the art equipment to facilitate the effective functioning of NAOWA in the Division. 

She commended the exemplary leadership and unrelenting support of the President NAOWA and thanked her for finding time out of her very busy schedule to commission the Centre which is named after the NAOWA President, Mrs Salamatu Faruk Yahaya.

High points of the event were the unveling of NAOWA Ashoke for ceremonial attire, commissioning of the newly constructed centre, distribution of bags of rice and other food items to widows as part of widows outreach.
