The Lagos State Neighborhood Safety Agency has reacted report of a viral post by some persons claiming that the Agency has directed Officer of the Agency to submit their PVCs.
General Manager Lagos Neighborhood Safety Agency LNSA, Prince Ifalade Oyekan in a statement on Friday said, as a responsible Agency, we wish to clarify the issues and claims raised by the self proclaimed journalists for the benefit of the good people of Lagos.
He stated that, it is important to note that the Agency although set up and funded by the Lagos State government has established a reputation for impartiality, fairness and justice in its operations and existence.
"It is on record that the Agency operating a none descriminatory policy has in its employment Nigerians resident in the State from all sections of the country and would not be involved in frivolities as forcing people to join issues in the personal decisions of the residents of Lagos State as it seeks to ensure all residents of the state are treated as stakeholders in all spheres of its existence.
"It is thus, malicious and insensitive to assume or accuse without prove the Agency of actions that may compromise it's neutrality in its operations and or the personal lives of its staff.
"For the avoidance of doubt, the management of the Agency wishes to state categorically that the statement is in the figment of the imagination of the publisher and supposed source. And that the Agency at no time gave such a directive to collect the PVCs of its Officers.
"We thus admonish the publisher (s) of this News to for the sake of true journalism as the conscience of the people endeavour to verify any supposed! News or information from the Agency before publishing", he noted.
Ifalade Oyekan therefore stressed that the agency remain committed to the safety and security of all residents of Lagos State without prejudice for their personal affiliations, while it hamdles it's staff welfare with one of the best Corporate Social responsibility models in Nigeria.
