Force Commander MNJTF Pledges To Address Logistic Challenges At FOB Mallam Fatori Sector 3 Nigeria

The Force Commander MNJTF, Maj Gen Abdul Khalifah Ibrahim has pledged to address logistic challenges confronting the FOB Mallam Fatori in Sector 3 Nigeria in order to enhance its fighting capabilities while encouraging them to be more offensive minded against the criminals rather than being on the defensive.

General Ibrahim stated this on Wednesday 22 Mar 23 when he paid an operational visit to FOB Mallam Fatori in Sector 3 Nigeria, accompanied by senior officers from the HQ MNJTF and Commander 19 Brigade, Brig Gen EA Orakwe who joined up at Baga Nigeria.

Chief Military Public Information Officer MNJTF, Lieutenant Colonel Kamarudeen Adegoke in a press statement made available to SpyeTV News said the Force Commander also urged FOB Mallam Fatori in Sector 3 Nigeria to reactivate their helipad.

The FC who was received on arrival by the Commanding Officer of 68 Bn Lt Col A Onyeukwu and the FOB Bosso Major Yacouba Moumouni at the Bosso Helipad in Niger Republic appreciated the CO for his proactive style of leadership since he assumed command and praised him for stabilizing the challenging location. 

General Ibrahim noted that Mallam Fatori is strategic and hence the repeated attempts by the criminal terrorists to overrun the location.

He said he has noted the additional deployments that has improved the security of the areas but there is need for more equipment which he promised to take up with Appropriate Superior Authority, ASA. 

He urged the Commanding Officer of 68 Bn Lt Col A Onyeukwu and his men not to relent in their efforts to secure their Area of Responsibility, AOR. 

The FC praised the courage and gallantry of the troops in thwarting all the attacks on their location and promised greater support to them. He urged them to be disciplined and professional at all times. 

General Ibrahim also condoled the troops in respect to their colleagues who paid the supreme price, saying they are heroes who would never be forgotten and wish the injured ones a quick recovery. 

The FC reaffirmed his confidence in the officers and men of the unit and praised the leadership of the past COs and the brigade commander for their efforts in holding and stabilizing the unit despite the challenging environment.

Responding, the Brigade Commander thanked the FC for his leadership and for his recognition of the challenges of a location like Mallam Fatori and said the troops would always make the MNJTF proud in all their activities. 

SpyeTV News reports that the FC and his entourage were given detailed operational and administrative brief by the Commanding Officer 68 Bn. The briefs highlighted the unit's participation in Operation Lake Sanity, Operation Flood Sanity and other operational matters, achievements, challenges and prospects. The FC and his entourage also had a guided tour around the camp to see the troops' deployment and ongoing renovation projects within the camp.
