The suspects, who were paraded for various crimes, were reportedly arrested during Exercise Still Waters operation on the rail side, Brown Street, Araromi, and other parts in Oshodi axis of the state.
Parading the suspect, the Brigade Commander, Brig.- Gen Isongubong Effiong said, “We are here because we raided some areas in Oshodi, including the Brown Street, Araromi, and some volatile areas concerning the activities of hoodlums in that area.
“We arrested about one hundred and sixteen miscreants. We began the operation from 1am till about 5am this morning.”
According to him, some of the items recovered from the hoodlums include cut to size locally made pistol, 8 phones, local charms, cash, Indian hemp, tramadol, ATM, MTN sim cards, bags among others.
“Whatever happens, with this number we have here, we are going to screen them, because some of them were caught alongside others. I want to assure Lagosians that we are in charge.
“As I speak to you now, this same act has been carried out in FESTAC area; we will continue working just to make sure that Lagos is safe,” Effiong said.
