The General Officer Commanding (GOC)1 Division Nigerian Army, Major General Taoreed Lagbaja has commended the graduands for their discipline, endurance and perceverance throughout the duration of the course while urging them to put into practice the skills and knowledge acquired.
Ag DDAPR, Major MA Yahaya in a statement on Monday 5 September 2022, as troops of Exercise Shining Star graduated at 1 Division Training School, Dalet Cantonment, Kaduna.
In his remarks, the Special Guest of Honour (SGOH), the GOC 1 Division applauded the Division Training Officer (DTO) and his team of instructors for impacting high level of military training and proficiency in the graduands.
Earlier in his welcome address, the DTO Brigadier General BO Amakor stated that, the concept of Exercise SHINING STAR was to provide a common platform for a harmonized post-basic training for selected young soldiers of 82 Regular Recruits Intake across Nigerian Army formations.
He further stressed that the Exercise was to carefully improve the knowledge of the trainees on how to confront the current security challenges bedevelling the country and in particular the Division's Area of Responsibility.
Gen Amakor used the opportunity to thank and appreciate the GOC for the timely provision of resources without which the training wouldn't have achieve the desired aim and objectives.
Highlights of the event were stripping and assembling of AK 47 and FN rifles, mounting and dismounting drills, presentation of certificates to the graduands, presentation of souvenir to the SGOH, vote of thanks and a group photograph.
