1. NIGERIAN TROOPS RESCUE MORE KIDNAPPED VICTIMS IN KADUNA.
PRNigeria - Troops of Operation Forest Sanity have rescued seven kidnapped persons during a fighting patrol spanning Birnin Gwari and Chikun LGAs. According to an operational feedback, the troops came under fire from bandits while on patrol along the Birnin Gwari-Gayam-Kuriga-Manini axis. The troops returned fire and promptly subdued the bandits, who fled into the forests, leaving behind the captives in their custody. The troops then rescued the seven victims, who are identified as Joseph Ishaku, John Bulus, Gloria Shedrack (and her four children): Jimre ShedracK, Jonathan Shedrack, Angelina Shedrack and Abigail Shedrack.
2. ARMY CHIEF INAUGURATES DIGITAL MUSEUM IN ABUJA.
PRNigeria - The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Faruk Yahaya on Tuesday inaugurated the modernised and digitalised Museum of the Nigerian Army in Abuja. The museum, established in 1956 in Zaria, had housed the army’s historical artifacts in an analogue mode, until its recent transformation to the digital following its relocation to Abuja in 2015. Speaking at the event, the Yahaya said that the army had rich history dated back to 1863 that needed to be properly documented and archived.

Under this administration, the President has repeatedly made it clear that nobody is allowed to illegally carry AK-47 or any other automatic weapons and that they must surrender them. He stated this earlier today, 27 September 2022, when he officially commissioned the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Air Warfare Centre and inaugurated its first course on basic air power for young officers. Politicaleconomist - The Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC) Jaji on Monday commemorated 165 students of the college who lost their lives in a plane crash 30 years ago. The students died on Sep 26, 1992 when their Nigerian Air Force C-130 plane crashed in Ejigbo Area of Lagos State. The commemoration witnessed the laying of wreath, prayers and release of pigeons. In his remarks, the Commandant of the college, AVM Olurotimi Tuwase said the deceased would never be forgotten by the college and the nation.

Theeaglronline - A former worker with a new generation bank, John Ewa, who was arrested by policemen for alleged kidnapping, has said that he was given N5 million out of the N160 million collected from the kidnap of two bankers. The Eagle Online recalls that Ewa, popularly known as John Lion, was arrested in Abuja by policemen from Bayelsa State. Ewa, who was paraded at the headquarters of the Bayelsa State Police Command alongside other members of his gang, told newsmen that he was involved in the kidnap of only two bankers: Akeem Olushola on December 8, 2020, and Danjuma Emeje on June 30, 2022.

It was learnt that the operation that led to his arrest was carried out last week around Dankogi Park in Zuba in collaboration with members of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria in the area. A vigilante source told City & Crime that the DSS from Gwagwalada office sought the assistance of the local security group in Zuba to arrest the suspect based on previous arms deal allegations against him.
17. JUST IN: NDLEA DESTROYS N194 BILLION COCAINE SEIZED IN LAGOS WAREHOUSE.
Interregion - The Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, has destroyed illicit drugs worth more about N194.7 billion. Recall, on September 19, 2022, operatives of the NDLEA busted a major warehouse in a secluded estate in Ikorodu area of Lagos State where 1.8tons (1,855kgs) of crack cocaine, worth over $278, 250,000 were seized. The seizure was said to be the biggest singular cocaine seizure in the history of the agency’s operations.

Swafricanews - Cracking down on crimes in Bayelsa State, officials of the State Police Command have arrested four suspects for kidnapping. The suspects, which target high profile victims including bank managers, were said to be part of a gang terrorizing the State in the past seven years. This was disclosed in a statement issued on Monday by the Commissioner of Police, Bayelsa State Command, CP Ben Nebolisa Okolo, and made available to Security Watch Africa (SWA). It also revealed that some suspects were also arrested for cultism, murder, armed robbery among other crimes. AREWA AGENDA – Ms Imaan Suleiman-Ibrahim, Federal Commissioner, National Commission for Refugees Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons says 500,000 Nigerians awaiting repatriation in three countries.
