Just in: Army Troops of 25 Task Force Brigade Repel B'Haram Terrorists Attack in Damboa 

The Nigerian Army Troops of 25 Task Force Brigade of the ‘Operation Hadin Kai’ in Damboa Local Government Area of Borno state have successfully repelled an attack by Boko Haram Terrorists group on Thursday evening.

Damboa in the southern Borno senatorial district is about 85km drive from Maiduguri, the state capital.

Report by counter insurgency expert and security analyst, Zagazola Makama on Thursday evening said the terrorists stormed the town in four guntrucks and ten motorcycles. 

Reports say, they had earlier gathered Yajiwa axis before attacking the town.

Zagazola Makama said that the army’s 25 Task Force Brigade in Damboa had been exchanging gunfire with the insurgents after they entered the town in a multiple folds with Hilux trucks and motorcycles.

The attack comes less than 72 hours after the troops of OPHK in conjunction with the Civilian JTF killed 47 terrorists including top Commanders of the Jamā'at Ahl as-Sunnah lid-Da'wah wa'l-Jihād, Boko Haram faction at Gazuwa, a so called new headquarters of the terrorists.

On June 15, the terrorists, kidnapped 50 farmers in the outskirt of Bama and later released them after robbing them of their belongings.

On Thursday evening, the terrorists from the camp targeted an IDPs camp in Banki with Motar bombs, injuring 11 women and children
