Army Chief Commissions Unogbo Primary Health Care Centre in Edo State, Urges Beneficiary on Maintenance

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt Gen Faruk Yahaya has commissioned the newly constructed and equipped Unogbo Primary Health Care Centre in Esan Centrl Local Government Area of Edo State executed in honour of Maj Gen PE Eromosele, Coordination Nigerian Army Special Projects. 

The COAS who was ably represented by the Chief of Civil-Military Affairs, Maj Gen MG Kangye in his remarks stated that the Nigerian Army paid very close attention to the Non-Kinetic lines of Operation by ensuring that the Nigerian Army has good and cordial relationship with the civil populace and indeed the host communities where the military operations are conducted.

He urged host communities to ensure adequate maintenance is provided to the Quick Impact Projects executed in their communities. 

He opined that the cordial relationship necessitated the conception of renovating and equipping the health care centre in order to win the hearts and minds of the host community.

In her own address, the Honourable Commissioner of Health Edo State, Professor Obehi Akoria appreciated the Nigerian Army for honouring Maj Gen PE Eromosele, a son of the Community by renovating and equipping the health care centre in his name. 

She assured the Community that adequate staff would be posted to man the newly installed equipment in the coming week. 

In his welcome remarks, Maj Gen PE Eromosele who was born at the health care centre stated that the health care centre was in a dilapidated state as at the time of his intervention. He said that COAS intervention quickened early completion of the project. 

He therefore thanked the COAS for his magnanimity and for honouring him with the project. 

Highpoints at the occasion included the unveiling of the commissioning plaque, the cutting of the commissioning tape, presentation of souvenirs and cultural display. 

Important dignitaries that graced the occasion includes the His Royal Highness the Ojiirua of Irrua and Okaijesan of Esaland Chief WO Momodu II, Commander Operation WHIRL STROKE Maj Gen KO Aligbe, Commander 4 Brigade, Brigadier General SA Abdullahi and Executive Secretary Edo State Primary HealthCare Development Agency, Dr Mrs O Obarisiagbon. 

Others were, Head of Local Government Administration Esan Central, Dr Charles Okpere, the Odionwelle of Unogbo Community, Chief A Ativie and Coordinator Primary Health Care Esan Central, Dr Augustine Oboh.
