The minister of Defence Major General Bashir Magashi (Retd), Monday declared opened the Defence Retreat - Asaba 2022, tasked all Service Chiefs to assess the country’s security position in 2022.
The theme of the one week retreat "Shaping the Armed Forces of Nigeria For Current and Future Security Challenges" is being hosted by the Chief of Defence Staff, General LEO Irabor.
In attendance is the Chief of Army Staff Lt General Faruk Yahaya, the Chief of Air Staff Marshal Oladayo Amao, the Chief of Naval Staff is Rear Admiral Awwal Zubairu Gambo and other Senior principals from all the services.
The retreat which would run from today through Friday is currently holding at the Delta State Multi-Purpose Hall, Asaba.During the first session, there was Launch of Military Strategy, and an interactive session on "Harmonising Policies in the Armed Forces of Nigeria For Optimum Performance". The session lead by Commodore N Kpou (Retd), moderated by Chief of Policy and Plan (Army) Major General AB Omozoje, and other discussants were Major General AZ Dada Director of Planning Army Headquarters, Rear Admiral AN Ayafa, Air Voce Marshal AV Abubakar.
