The Governor of Borno State, Babagana Zulum has applauded Major General Abdulwahab Adelokun Eyitayo, on his promotion to the enviable rank of "MAJOR GENERAL" in the Nigerian Army and other newly promoted senior officers, serving in the North East, for hardwork, doggedenss and resilience.
Zulum who was the Special Guest of Honour gave this commendation in his remarks at end of the year 2021 operational activities celebration which took place at the Headquarters 7 Division and Sector 1 Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), Maiduguri, Borno State Capital.
The governor congratulates the GOC for his well deserved promotion, the officers and troops for the commitment and steadfastness as well as the entire members of the Armed Forces and other security agencies for their untiring efforts and unimmaginable sacrifices in the fight against terrorists, assuring that the good people of Borno State are eternally grateful for this sacrifices.
He further stated that, the Nigerian military deserves more accolades, allowances and remuneration for doing the nation proud.
He urged the military to put the interest of the nation first before self and other issues, stressing that soldiers in the frontlines should be highly commended for that sacrifices alone and therefore needs all the physical, financial and moral support at all times.
Also, the gallant officers and troops of Headquarters 7 Division and Sector 1 Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), expressed high hopes and expectations in the year ahead as they celebrate and felicitate with the Chief Wolf, the General Officer Commanding 7 Division and Commander Sector 1 OPHK, Major General Abdulwahab Adelokun Eyitayo, on his promotion to the enviable rank of "MAJOR GENERAL" in the Nigerian Army.
Earlier in his remarks, the Theatre Commander Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI, Major General Christopher expressed his immense apprecaition to God for giving the opportunity to be at the occassion marking the end of year and the promotion party in honour of the General Officer Commanding. He added that for being amongst the chosen few to hang the rank of 2 star General is truly worthy to celebrate and appreciate God Almighty.
Responding, the highly elated GOC, Major General AA Eyitayo who thanked God for the gift of life, for the success in the recent past 2021 operational activities with glaring successes recorded in the Sector as well as for considering him worthy to be amongst the lucky few that were promoted.
General Eyitayo expressed his immense gratitude to the Chief of Defence, Service Chiefs and especially the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya for his magnanimity and consideration, he added that he will continue to do his utmost best in the discharge of his duties as the GOC of Wolf Division (7 Division Nigerian Army).
He also extend his appreciation to Governor Zulum, and all officers and troops of the Division for their commitment and resilience in the entire operational activities within the sector. He therefore charge the troops to sustain the tempo in order to bring the war against insurgency to a conclusive end.
Highlights of the occasion includes, cultural Display by members of the Borno state Art and Culture, comedy and dance entertainment as well as presentation of souvenire to the Speical Guest of Honour by the Celebrant.
Present at the occasion were the Theatre Commamder JTF NE OPHK, Major General Christopher Musa, members of Borno State Executive Council, the Chief of Defence and Combat Development HQ TRADOC Nigerian Army, Major General GS Abdullahi, Air Component Component, AVM NN Ananaba, Director of Doctrine TRADOC NA, Brig General VOA Ita, other compnent Commanders, among Others.
