The Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Farouk Yahaya has assured Nigerians and the the Governor of Kaduna State Mallam El Rufai of the readiness of the military to deal decisively with bandits, kidnappers and other criminals across the state.Lt. General Farouk Yahaya made this ascertion on Wednesday when he and other Senior Military Officers paid a courtesy visit to the Governor of Kaduna State.
The COAS who is in Kaduna for a seminar organized by the Army Headquarters for senior Military Officers said that the military would deal with all criminals terrorising the people of Kaduna State.
He said President Muhammadu Buhari had ordered the military to ensure that people go freely to their farms, their business centres without any security threat.
“We are working towards that in synergy, the platforms are ready for the operations and we are liaising with the air force and other ground troops for the operations.
“We are coming after Kaduna bandits together with the Air Force, Navy and other security agencies to make sure that they are flushed out of the country,” Yahaya said
He stated that the welfare of Army personnel would be accorded full priority, to ensure motivation and diligence in the discharge of their duties.
Receiving the COAS, Kaduna State Acting Governor, Dr. Hadiza Balarabe thanked the Nigerian Army for the ongoing efforts to tackle banditry and other criminal activities in the state, while calling for more deployment of troops to strengthen the ongoing efforts.
