The Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has called for increased military presence in the State.
Governor Inuwa made this request on Wednesday when he paid a courtesy visit to Defence Headquarters in Abuja.
Though he assured of his administration’s commitment to sustain the relative peace in the state, the governor pleaded with the Armed Forces to deploy more military personnel to take over major towns and villages in Gombe State.
He, however, attributed the prevailing peace in the state to the cordial relationship between the government and security agencies.
The Governor also lauded the efforts of Armed Forces in restoring peace in the Northeast.
Responding, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Lucky Irabor who played host to the governor, assured of continuous military support towards further improvement of security in the state, the Northeast and Nigeria in general.
