The Lagos Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has joined Nigerians to mourn the passing of the afropop legend, Olanrewaju Fasasi, popularly known as Sound Sultan.

In a statement issued by the PRE, Samuel O. Adeyemi on Sunday, the Chairman of the Chapter, Mrs. Comfort Nwankwo was quoted as saying that: “On behalf of the Excos and members of the Lagos Chapter of NIPR, known as the Big Apple, I will like to register our condolence to the family of Sound Sultan and other music lovers across the state.”

“We can’t but recall with nostalgia the electrifying performance of Sound Sultan six months ago at the Lagos PR Industry Gala and Awards (LaPRIGA).”

Mrs. Nwankwo noted that “Sound Sultan’s performance at LaPRIGA put smiles on our faces, took us down memory lane and accelerated our feet on the dancing floor.”

“It’s our prayers that God will comfort every member of his family during this difficult time.”
