Eight students out of those abducted by bandits on Thursday at Federal Government College, Birnin Yauri, Kebbi State have been rescued.
This was announced by the Special Adviser on Security to Kebbi State Governor, Major Rabiu Kamba (Rtd).
Major Kamba told newsmen in Yauri, that the abductees rescued were at present in the custody of the military at Dirin Daji and that arrangement was in top gear to hand over them over to government for onward reunion with their families.
According to report, he said, the state government will soon receive them for reunion with their respective families.
Armed bandits, numbering over one hundred and fifty on motorcycles invaded the college on Thursday at around 12:30 in the evening and abducted yet to be ascertained number of students and staff.
