When a state governor dissolved the cabinet, there are lots of controversies surrounding the action. The Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma was on Wednesday sacked about 20 of his commissioners after the state executive meeting in Owerri.
The dissolution according to the Commissioner for Information, Declan Emelumba, who retained his position alongside that of Works, Women Affairs, Technology, Finance, Health, Sports and Tourism said the governor dissolved his cabinet in order to reform his government after a year in office.
Facts have emerged that internal sabotage and allegations of bribery were the major reasons for the sudden sack of 20 Commissioners out of the 27 member cabinet Commissioners in Imo state.
Reports say about a month ago, the Imo governor had reshuffled his cabinet and appointed new commissioners for Finance and Health. The sacked Commissioners who were nominated on March 11, 2020, spent about 14 months in office and sworn in a week later.
He thanked the sacked Commissioners for their services to the state, wishing them well in their future endeavors.
He assured that the state government might make use of worthy ones among them in other areas if they were not eventually re-appointed.
