Contrary to earlier reports carried initially, Mrs Fati, wife of late Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru is not amongst those that died in the military aircraft that crashed landed at the Kaduna International Airport. Mrs. Fati Attahiru, ACJ can now confirm is alive and in Abuja.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian Army has announced the passing away of its Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Ibrahim Attahiru
In a statement signed by Director Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Mohammed Yerima and made available to Defense Correspondents on Friday, the sad event occurred following an air crash in Kaduna which also claimed the lives of 10 other officers including the crew.
Yerima added that the COAS was en route Kaduna from Abuja on Friday, 21 May, 2021 when the unfortunate incident happened.
"Details of the sad incident and burial arrangements will be communicated soon", the statement reads.
