The Acting Commandant Nigerian Army School of Public Relations and Information (NASPRI) Col Aliyu Yusuf on Friday has inaugurated 2nd Quarter 2021 Courses at NASPRI auditorium.
In his inaugural address, the Commandant remarked that - the daunting 11pchallenges the armed forces are faced with today requires public support and understanding.
Col Aliyu Yusuf also commended some section of the public and media, including bloggers and online publishers in their positive reportage of military stories.
He noted however, the issue of inaccurate reporting of events that often graduate to sheer fabrication or fake news which has reached an alarming rate.
Col Aliyu Yusuf opined that, inorder to reduce the menace of fake news; the course will be focusing more on strategies to curb these issues.
He therefore emphasized that, before the end of the course - the students If APRC 5/21 will come up with an Aid Memoir and practicable modules that will serve as guide for Military Public Relations young officers in the field.
Speaking earlier, the Acting Deputy Commandant, NASPRI, Major Jonah Unuakhalu charged the students to meet up with the training objectives of the institution as it will enhance career progression and service delivery.
He disclosed that the Acting Commandant has painstakingly repackaged training activities in NASPRI to deal with contemporary realities of modern information management and practice.
The Courses comprise; the Advance Public Relations Course (APRC) 5/21, A2 Video Operations and X3 Graphics Design and Printing.
