The state’s Commissioner of Police (CP), Joe Enwonwu, who decorated the newly-promoted officers at the Command Headquarters, Eleiyele, Ibadan, said the promotion was a reward in any service, saying that other officers should emulate those that had just been promoted.

According to the CP,  more than 20 officers promoted among which we have 15 newly promoted Chief Superintendent of Police (CSPs)  in the state.

Enwonwu urged the newly-promoted officers to always ensure that they serve as a motivator for themselves and their subordinates, adding that they should remain committed to the objective of the Inspector-General of Police in ensuring protection of lives and property of individuals.

“It beholds on you to be professional and ensure that you are accountable on whatever actions you do.

“This promotion served as a motivation to do more, be cool-headed and inculcate good example on your subordinates,” Enwonwu said.

Meanwhile, speaking on behalf of the newly-promoted officers, CSP Okunowo Babafemi, who was just promoted from the post of SP to CSP, thank the IG for submitting their promotion recommendation to the PSC, and the PSC for considering the recommendation of the IGP.

“PSC could have turned down the recommendation because not all the names that were submitted by the IGP to the PSC was promoted,” he said.
