Official press statement released by Nollywood actress Moji Olaiya today:
Please be informed that stories going around that I am set for a second marriage is not certain and unfortunately is being shared and shared till it is almost becoming a fact.
The fact is, I am separated from my husband but that does not in any way tantamount to a divorce, there must be a decree Absolute issued by a competent court for us to be deemed divorced.
In a very plain term, “I am not divorced from my first marriage and the issue of preparing for a second does not arise at all”.
Issues of religion is a personal thing and highly independent of any external influences. Contrary to the speculation that I converted from Christianity to Islam because of my speculated relationship with a certain Alhaji, may I state here categorically that, I embraced Islam having critically observed its practices and doctrines and I consider it a religion of peace. Casting aspersions on my religious belief is over the top and cannot be ignored.
I also use this opportunity to thank all my fans, friends and loved ones for standing by me.
I implore you to keep praying for me to remain unruffled in all of these.
