President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Mele Kyari to the head the crude oil sales department of theNigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).. This was revealed by the management of the NNPC on Thursday, August 13, 2015.
"President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the following appointments in the NNPC and it's subsidiary companies:1.Chidi Momah- Group General Manager.
2. Mrs Esther Nnamdi Ogbue- Group Legal Adviser/Company Secretary.
3. Chinedu Ezeribe- MD,PPMC
4.Rowland Ewubare -MD, IDSL
5. Dafe Sejebor-, MD, NAPIMS
6.Babatunde Bakare- MD Warri Refinery
7. Modupe Banmeke- MD, NNPC Properties.
8.Ladipo Fagbola, MD, NNPC Retail
9. Inuwa Waya, MD NGC
10. Abubakar Mai-Bornu, MD, NPDC
11. Abdulkadir Saidu- MD, Duke Oil
This is besides the earlier appointments of the GMD, Dr Ibe Kachikwu as well as Dennis Nnamdi Ajilu, Babatunde Adeniran, Isiaka Abdulrazak and Makanti Baru as Group Executive Directors.
The distribution would appear to favour the South East and South South combined occupying 7 with South East having 4 positions out of the 15 appointments with South West accounting for 4 and the whole of the 3 zones in the North occupying 4 positions.
I will wish to hear the views of those who would shout nepotism and northernisation even on the appointment of his personal cook and steward on this appointments in the NNPC.

Kyari replaces Gbenga Olu Komolafe who was reassigned to cover special duties within the company last week.
