The Labour Party lawmaker representing Akure South and
North in the Federal House of Representatives, Mr. Ifedayo
Abegunde who defected to the Action Congress of Nigeria,
was sacked from the House by a Supreme Court today.
Abegunde was elected under the auspices of LP in the April
2011 general elections, after he had completed a term on the
platform of the Peoples Democratic Party.
He, however, defected to the ACN a few months after his re-
election to the parliament.
He had approached the court for judicial protection against his
recall by the Ondo State House of Assembly, Labour Party, the
Speaker of the House of Representatives, Alhaji Aminu
Tambuwal and Independent National Electoral Commission.
