Stevie Taylor is one of the movie makers veterans to be reackon with. After posting the Yemi Alade's interview...here is what Stevie sent to ny box....
"I find it quite amazing when modern day artistes attach high importance to their struggles to achieve great heights. In our days it was more of a battle. No computers, no fruity loops, no softwares.
ALL ANALOGUE. Way back in 1995, I remembered me, a few friends and Adex of Artquake trying to convince the management of Kwara Hotels in Ilorin that we could mime 'I swear' by All for One! Not that we didn't have a novel song we could sing , but "walahi, who go hear am?" But today, we can say "Alhamdulilahi" My first effort at directing drama in 1996 was a big flop. Thanks to Mr. Taiye Ogundiran of the NTA who bailed me out with a total reshoot. (I crossed all the possible lines). I and Gbenga Alaroye equally had a gruesome experience, we wanted to record, we borrowed a keyboard, mixer and amplifier, carried it on our heads. I was meant to produce his first album. We were banking on NEPA. As soon as all was on ground, NEPA took light. #lobatan#. No money to rent a generator, not to even talk of fuelling it. We had to return the stuff by evening (keyboard et all.) by head again. Now I own 3 studios, I and Gbenga as much as we see are yet to produce the album. Finally, I had to almost beg to convince Daniel Aregbesola to direct the video of his song 'PASTOR MIMO'. And it was a huge success. Today, people beg me to make their videos. And for this reason I'd like to say "NOTHING VENTURED, NOTHING GAINED" My next movie, ”ni ijebu eti iwoye - in a labyrinth of life" says much about these experiences".
