Mugabe, who celebrates his 91st birthday on February 21, has
been accused of using widespread violence to win several
disputed elections, according to human rights groups.
The country suffered hyperinflation until it abandoned its
currency for the US dollar in 2009,
However, Mugabe - who, along with his wife Grace, is on the
EU blacklist - still has time to take annual vacations every
January to Asia, including Singapore where he has visited
specialists for check-ups on his eyes, according to
Zimbabwean officials.Mother nature rained down on Africa’s oldest President, Robert
Mugabe today at Harare International airport moments after
he arrived Zimbabwe from Ethiopia.
The 90-year-old controversial ruler had just returned from
Ethiopia when he stopped by to address supporters on the
podium at Harare International airport. While he was walking
away from the podium, he tumbled and fell off the stairs to
his knees.
The incident was witnessed by curious journalists and
supporters.
Mugabe was immediately pulled up by his aides and walked
to a waiting car.
