Exclusive Pictures: The Golden Movie Ambassadors Visit PM News: Solicited For Media Support

The professional body of the Golden Movie Ambassador led by its president, Saidi Balogun today was on a courtesy visit to one of the biggest Print Media Houses in Nigeria, PM News.
According to the President, the aim of the visit is to solicite for media support and partnership to achieve the non governmental organisation's mission which is targeted in rebuilding, restructuring and Rebranding.
While speaking on the purpose of the visit, The Director Business and Branding, Ambassador Foluke Daramola-Salako emphasized on the need to rebrand the movie industry and making a difference. "having a better standard production is our focus and we align with the press and corporate bodies to support our movement". She said.
Amb. Foluke also frowned at the way leaders are selecting or appointing Minister for Culture, she said, it should be someone from the industry who knows things about the industry.
On his own part, Ambassador Bayo Bankole also know as Alinco, who serve as the Director of Research, stated that, the organization called The Golden Movie Ambassador comprises of all the Movie makers, Actors and other Stakeholders in the industry, therefore, it is not in any grudges with any individual or groups.

"What we are out to do is to create a new platform for the practitioners, to create a level today, it will get to a level where actors will not be bedridden in writing to people for support. We intend to go to the House of Representatives, to take our message to them and see that not until the law that is guiding piracy in the country is reviewed, we will not forge ahead. We are seeking for a conducive environment to practice our work for quality production."
  image image  The members of this professional organisation  also appeal to media houses to partner with them for better result. They informed PM News editors that, the members are together in one voice after building a corporate society by which they can display and produce quality products by putting money and resources together to produce better movies.
In addition, Ambassador Foluke Daramola Salako stated that, the Major Cinemas in the county were owned by private sectors and the profit is alarming. She further suggested that, the government should create a standard cinema.
The serving Vise Secretary, Dele Fagboyo noted that, TGMA webiste is fully active for members of the public to access and  get more information. Describing the members as professionals and experienced having no grudges against anyone nor any other pressure group.
Responding, The Deputy Editor PM News, Lanre Babalola commended the practitioners for their courage and determination to rebrand the movie sector, noting that, the Nollywood is the 3rd largest producer in Africa and this is representing the country in the diaspora.
In conclusion, the President, Saidi Balogun noted out some benefits and how the Golden Movie Ambassador Group would affect positively on all members of the group:
Partnership with US Consulate, Health Benefit, Insurance policy, fighting Piracy together by urging the Honourable members of the House of Representatives to pass the bill into Law etc.....
Ambassador Saidi Balogun stressed that, December 5, 2014, the stakeholders in the movie industry will be meeting with the Honourables in the House of Representatives for their support in passing the Piracy bill into law. The short visit was attended by Members and members of the press.
