Ranti-Akerele

This is so sad, I don't know how to break this but...this is to let you know that, the former Commissioner for Information in Ondo state and a veteran broadcaster Ranti Akerele, who is also a Pastor in Redeemed Christian Church Of God in Akure, who is well known as the golden voice behind major PROGRAMMES on the state Radio and Television has just passed on to glory.
According to report, he was found dead on his bed this morning.
Sources said that, as at yesterday, he went to drop his wife in the hospital and came back home, even instructed the security man to switch off  his generating set as at 12 midnight.

This morning, his wife called his phone and he did not pick, so she called the security man said he is in the bathroom having his bath because he can still hear the sound of the shower rushing water but after sometime, he didn't hear his movement in the house again. The wife Lucy Akerele called again but the ex commissioner didn't pick up his phone, so she was nervous and she instructed the security man to go into the apartment and check on her husband. After spending minutes knocking on his door they decided to break the door.
Lo, it was Ranti's Body lying lifeless on bed. Akerele, served in Governor Olusegun Mimiko’s first term before he was relieved in 2011.
Reports say, he was found dead in his room with shaving liquid on his cheek.
He's survived by wife and his two handsome sons.
Adieu my Mentor Ranti Akerele

Well said, Yemi Alabi. It is rather too early for an idiot to start introducing an illegitimate child. Some people are very stupid, they think with their mouths, in this case, "anonymous" thinks with her fingers..

The information here is clearer about what probably happened .
1)He did not die overnight
2)He was up and shaved/before he probably slumped.
3)He might not even have died at the time they saw him.
4) Most controversially I want to say Mr Akerele might have survived with a CPR.

This adds to the pain of the family and loved ones like most of us. I don't intend to be controversial, but the death might have been preventable. I'm emotional here but also objective.

We need public health education about the need for attempting resuscitation on every person , young or old found 'dead'.
Some of these might have suffered a reversible cardiac event.
There have been cases of people surviving after many hours being in coma with resuscitation.
Heart attacks are not uncommon now in Nigeria. We need awareness and understanding of what response of man on the street should be .
May God strengthen the family .
