A 12-year-old boy was sexually assaulted yesterday while shopping with his grandmother at the South Street Seaport, police said.
The boy walked into the men’s room on the second floor at around 7:30 p.m., cops said. While standing at the urinal, the boy was approached by a man who lured him into a stall and assaulted him.
Police said the child didn’t immediately tell his grandmother about the incident, but finally confessed almost 90 minutes later.
The boy was taken to Bellevue Hospital for evaluation.
The suspect was described as having dark hair and was last seen wearing a white shirt and gray sweatpants.
