Investigations indicated that the situation was as a result of expiration of an ultimatum given to Governor Aliyu Magatakarda by the Power Holding Company of Nigeria, PHCN, to apologise for physically assaulting their manager in Sokoto.
Newsmen who visited parts of the State observed that the situation had crippled socio-economic activities.
At the Sokoto Specialist Hospital, patients were seen leaving without being discharged due to extreme heat.
Meanwhile, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media Affairs, Mallam Sani Umar in a statement insists that the Governor will not apologise for an offence he did not commit.
He alleged that the Manager had collected seventeen million naira to restore electricity to Wamako but failed to do so.
According to him the Governor later invited him for explanation and handed him over to the Police.
