Troops of the Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have arrested a suspected terrorist kingpin, a 50-year-old female ammunition courier and a suspected logistics supplier in separate operations across Kaduna State.

The arrests were carried out on September 9, 2026, according to a statement by the Media Information Officer, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja.

In Kubau Local Government Area, troops of Sector 1 conducted a clearance operation at Dabar Dabo, identified as a suspected terrorist hideout, where they arrested the alleged terrorist kingpin and two members of his syndicate.

In a separate operation in Igabi LGA, troops acting on intelligence intercepted a 50-year-old woman allegedly transporting ammunition. A search of her bag reportedly uncovered 300 rounds of ammunition.

Preliminary investigation indicated that the suspect had travelled from Zamfara State to Lafia, where she allegedly received the ammunition for onward delivery to terrorists operating in Birnin Gwari, Kaduna State.

Later the same day, troops, working with a community vigilante group in Birnin Gwari LGA, arrested another suspected terrorist logistics supplier.

Four communication devices allegedly linked to terrorist activities were recovered from the suspect during interrogation and a search.

The military said all the suspects and recovered items are in custody for further investigation.

Operation FANSAN YAMMA said the arrests demonstrate its continued efforts to disrupt terrorist networks and prevent the movement of arms, ammunition and other logistics across its Joint Operations Area.

The task force also commended members of the public for their support and urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to security agencies.
