Students and alumni of Adeyemi College of Education Ondo has appealed to the federal and state governments to immortalised the late Abiodun Akintola Akindojutimi.
This appeal was made by the past president of the institution Comrade Ayo Ologun on monday Night of 16th July 2012, at the candle light organised in honour of the deceased SUG president. He said, Abbey as he's fondly called must not die in vain. He died to make a representation and to let the voice of Adeyemi students be heard at the Federal level. He therefore charged them, to be good comrades and continue to pursue social justice.
There was chorus of sad and solidarity songs by the students and friends of the deceased.
Earlier, the Ondo state governor Dr Olusegun Mimiko had sent an official government delegation to the family of the deceased for a condolence visit.
Comrade Tayo Marcus Olubodun in his own address describe Abiodun as a freedom fighter,Martin Luther king of our time. He challenged all students to stand for humanity,freedom,justice,fairness and equity. He encouraged them not to compromise and keep the spirit of unionism alive. They should not relent in their effort to fight for liberation.
In attendance at the candle light were the incumbent students of Adeyemi College and Ex-comrades/Presidents of Adeyemi College of Education Ondo Comrade Tayo Marcus Olubodun and Comrade Ayo Ologun alongside with Hon.Olayemi Esan. The candle light was held in Ondo town at Oduduwa street along Ondo-Ore road. It was organised in the honour of the decease (Comrade Abiodun Akintola Akindojutimi) the SUG president who died in a ghastly motor accident which also claimed the life of FUTA SUG president and school Midwifery president on early hour of friday while returning from an official solidarity trip to Abuja organised by National Association of Nigerian students (NANS)
