Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, has hit back at former Anambra State governor and NDC presidential candidate, Peter Obi, over his recent call for increased Federal Government investment in sports.
Obi had called for stronger government commitment to sports development after watching the Nigeria Premier Football League encounter between Ikorodu City and Enugu Rangers at the Onikan Stadium in Lagos.
He expressed concern that despite Nigeria’s abundance of sporting talent, the country had yet to adequately invest in the sector or create enough opportunities for young people through sports.
