The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has concluded the second edition of its free holiday musical instrument training programme for dependents of NAF personnel aged between 6 and 18 years.
The four-week programme, organised by the NAF Directorate of Music, was conducted across various Commands and Units from August 3 to September 4, 2026.
The initiative, undertaken as part of the welfare programmes of the Chief of the Air Staff, provided participating children with practical training in musical instruments while promoting creativity, discipline, confidence and emotional development.
The programme also offered the young participants a productive way to engage themselves during the long vacation, while providing an avenue for them to discover and develop their musical talents.
The NAF said the initiative underscores its commitment to the welfare and holistic development of its personnel and their families, particularly through investments in the intellectual and creative development of their dependants.
Beyond musical skills, the training is expected to equip the participants with qualities such as self-discipline, teamwork and confidence, which can contribute to their personal growth and future contributions to society.
The successful completion of the second edition further highlights the NAF’s efforts to create opportunities that support the wellbeing of its personnel while nurturing the talents and potential of the next generation.
