The Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Adewale Adeniyi, has charged the management of the Customs Training College, Goron Dutse, Kano, to ensure the institution is fully equipped and ready to provide effective basic training for newly recruited personnel.

Adeniyi gave the charge on Saturday, August 29, 2026, when he inspected facilities at the College ahead of the arrival of recruits for the 2025/2026 Customs Recruitment Training Programme.

The inspection was aimed at assessing the readiness of the institution, including its facilities, ongoing projects, logistics and general capacity to accommodate the incoming recruits.

The Customs boss reaffirmed the commitment of the Service to providing the facilities, logistics and conducive learning environment required for effective training and capacity development.

He stressed that the College must be adequately prepared to deliver professional and effective basic training capable of equipping the new recruits with the knowledge, skills and discipline required to discharge their responsibilities within the Service.

During the inspection, Adeniyi was received by the Zonal Coordinator, Zone B, Assistant Comptroller-General of Customs Nsikan Umoh; Comptroller, Federal Operations Unit Zone B, Aminu Sule; Commandant of the Customs Training College, Deputy Comptroller Umar Atiku; and other principal officers and heads of units.

The Commandant briefed the CGC on the College’s activities, ongoing developments and preparations for the arrival of the recruits.

Adeniyi subsequently toured various facilities within the institution, inspecting their state of readiness and the progress of ongoing projects.

The inspection underscores the NCS leadership’s focus on strengthening human-capital development as part of efforts to build a more professional, efficient and operationally capable Customs Service.
