The Ambassador-designate of Nigeria to the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, Her Excellency Mrs. Yvonne Odumah, has arrived in Malabo to officially commence her diplomatic assignment.
Mrs. Odumah arrived in the Equatorial Guinean capital on Saturday, July 11, 2026, where she received a warm welcome from officials of the Embassy of Nigeria, representatives of the Government of Equatorial Guinea, the Deputy Chief of Protocol, Heads of Bureaus, and members of the Nigerian community resident in the country.
The reception underscores the cordial diplomatic relations between Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea, as well as the expectations surrounding the new envoy’s mission to strengthen bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
Ambassador-designate Odumah is expected to formally present her Letters of Credence to the President of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea in line with diplomatic protocol, after which she will officially assume her responsibilities as Nigeria’s Ambassador to the country.
Her posting is expected to further deepen diplomatic, economic, and cultural ties between Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea while promoting the interests and welfare of Nigerians living in the Central African nation.
