The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has sustained its counter-terrorism offensive with fresh precision air strikes that destroyed a terrorist enclave at Yaganari in the Gezuwa general area of Borno State.
The operation, carried out on July 10, 2026, by the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI, followed credible intelligence indicating renewed terrorist activities and the concentration of fighters in the area.
According to the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions confirmed the presence of terrorist structures and logistics hubs before the targets were engaged in a series of precision strikes.
He said the operation led to the destruction of terrorist infrastructure and the neutralisation of several terrorists, further degrading the insurgents’ ability to regroup and operate.
“The successful operation underscores the growing pressure being mounted on terrorist elements, whose freedom of movement and ability to regroup continue to be severely degraded by sustained air offensives,” the statement said.
Commending the personnel involved in the operation, the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, praised their professionalism and reaffirmed the Nigerian Air Force’s commitment to sustaining relentless offensive operations against terrorists.
“The Nigerian Air Force will continue to deliver decisive air power in concert with surface forces to hunt down, disrupt and destroy terrorist elements wherever they may seek refuge. We remain committed to ensuring that terrorists have no safe haven and no opportunity to recover their capabilities,” the Air Chief said.
He added that the Armed Forces of Nigeria remain firmly on course in consolidating the significant gains already achieved in the ongoing counter-terrorism campaign across the country.
