Troops of Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) have arrested an ex-soldier for allegedly impersonating a serving military personnel in Lafia Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
Sources isclosed that the suspect was apprehended at about 5:00 p.m. on May 5 by troops deployed at Forward Operating Base (FOB) Tattara during a routine patrol operation.
The sources said the arrest was made at Galadima area of Lafia following suspicion over the activities of the suspect.
According to the sources, troops recovered military kits and two mobile phones from the suspect during the operation.
“The suspect, who is an ex-soldier, was arrested for impersonating a serving military personnel.
“He was subsequently handed over to the Nigeria Police, Lafia Division, for further investigation and necessary action,” the sources said.
