The leadership of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) has called on Nigerians to support the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, and his management team in the ongoing fight against crime and insecurity across the country.
The National Chairman of the PCRC, Ibrahim Olaniyan, led members of the organisation in special prayers during Umrah in Saudi Arabia, seeking divine intervention for the Nigeria Police Force and its operations nationwide.
During the prayer session, Olaniyan asked Allah to grant the IGP wisdom, protection, and the necessary support to strengthen efforts aimed at combating crime and criminality, while also ensuring lasting peace and stability in Nigeria.
According to him, the prayers were also offered for the success of the Inspector-General’s leadership, his management team, and improved relations between the police and the public.
The committee stressed the importance of justice, improved welfare for police personnel, and sustained peace and order across the country.
Speaking during the session, Olaniyan described Disu as “a man of honour” and “a man of humble background,” while praying for divine guidance and protection as he discharges his responsibilities as the nation’s top police officer.
“We pray to Allah to guide him, to protect him, and to give him all the necessary tools to defeat all social vices,” Olaniyan said.
“We want it to be on record that we pray to Allah to make Disu the best Inspector-General of Police in the history of Nigeria, one who will defeat crime and criminality in Nigeria. Disu cannot do it alone; we want Allah to do it for him.”
The PCRC further offered prayers for the success of a planned dinner in honour of the Inspector-General, expressing confidence in his leadership and commitment to strengthening security and public trust in policing.
