The Nigerian Army has announced the commencement of its verification and screening exercise for the education sponsorship program for the 2024/2025 academic session, specifically targeting children of deceased personnel.
This welfare initiative is designed to ensure that children of officers and soldiers who lost their lives in active service have access to primary, secondary, and tertiary education across the country.
The exercise will be conducted across the six geopolitical zones as follows:
South South Zone: 8–11 February 2025 at Headquarters 6 Division, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
South East Zone: 13–16 February 2025 at Headquarters 82 Division, Enugu, Enugu State.
South West Zone: 18–21 February 2025 at Headquarters 2 Division, Ibadan, Oyo State.
North East Zone: 24–27 February 2025 at Headquarters Nigerian Army Armour Corps, Bauchi, Bauchi State.
North West Zone: 15 March 2025 at Headquarters 1 Division Nigerian Army, Kaduna, Kaduna State.
North Central & Abuja Zone: 10–17 March 2025 at Army Headquarters Command Officers' Mess, Asokoro, Abuja.
The exercise is open to new applicants, as well as beneficiaries seeking to upgrade or those who were absent from the 2023/2024 screening and verification exercise.
Applicants are required to submit relevant documents, including a handwritten application listing the names of the children, the beneficiary’s letter of admission, and the last school report card among other supporting documents.
