Further Exploitation Reveals Shallow Grave, Additional Terrorist Casualties As Troops of OPHK Sustain Offensive In North East

Troops of Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), have sustained offensive pressure against Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists across the theatre, recording fresh operational gains under Operation DESERT SANITY V.

During a coordinated night operation in Sector 2, troops working alongside members of the Civilian Joint Task Force neutralised several terrorists around Muktum and Ngirbuwa villages in Borno State. The encounter led to the recovery of two AK-47 rifles, three motorcycles and a number of mobile phones used by the insurgents.

Further exploitation along the terrorists’ withdrawal route revealed drag marks and a shallow grave, indicating that additional enemy casualties were recorded during the encounter. Security sources noted that the discovery underscores the intensity of the engagement and the effectiveness of the troops’ firepower.

In a related development, troops of Sector 1, while conducting clearance operations along the Bulayobe–Darel Jamel axis, engaged terrorists attempting to infiltrate the Main Supply Route. The insurgents reportedly fled in disarray under sustained fire, abandoning two sacks containing assorted logistics items suspected to be supplies meant for terrorist fighters.

Military authorities described the general security situation across the theatre as calm but unpredictable, stressing that troops remain vigilant and proactive in preventing attacks on communities and critical infrastructure.

The Headquarters Operation HADIN KAI reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining relentless pressure on terrorist elements, assuring residents of the North East that ongoing operations are aimed at restoring lasting peace, safety and economic stability across the region.
