Zone 16 AIG Receives JTF South-South Operation Delta Safe Commander, Seeks Stronger Inter-Agency Collaboration

The Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), Zone 16 Command Headquarters, Yenagoa, AIG Johnson Oluwole Adenola, on Tuesday, 6 January 2026, received the Commander, Joint Task Force (JTF) South-South, Operation Delta Safe (OPDS), Rear Admiral OBF Oladipo, on a courtesy visit.

The visit was aimed at familiarization and strengthening collaboration between the Nigeria Police Force and the Joint Task Force in the South-South region.

Speaking during the visit, Rear Admiral Oladipo expressed appreciation to the AIG and his management team for the warm reception accorded him. He stated that the visit was part of efforts to engage critical stakeholders within the Zone in order to effectively achieve the mandate of Operation Delta Safe. 

The JTF Commander emphasized the need for sustained cordial working relations, support, and cooperation between both agencies to enhance security operations in the region.

In his response, AIG Adenola congratulated Rear Admiral Oladipo on his recent deployment as Commander of JTF South-South Operation Delta Safe. On behalf of officers and men of Zone 16 Command, he warmly welcomed the delegation and commended the JTF for identifying with the Zone. 

The AIG assured the visiting team of the Command’s commitment to further strengthening the existing unity, collaboration, and operational bond between the Nigeria Police Force and the Joint Task Force.

Highlights of the visit according to Zonal Police Public Relations Officer, Zone 16 Command Headquarters, Yenagoa, SP Gunn Ewhoborwo Emonena, included a guard of honour by the Zonal Sentry, signing of the visitors’ book by the JTF Commander, exchange of plaques by both agencies, and group photographs.
