The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening public–private sector collaboration as the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, DFS, received a delegation from BUA Group on a courtesy visit to NAF Headquarters, Abuja, on 17 December 2025.
Welcoming the delegation, Air Marshal Aneke described the engagement as a reflection of the growing importance of partnerships between the Armed Forces and indigenous conglomerates in advancing Nigeria’s national security and development objectives. He noted that such collaborations are critical to fostering innovation, infrastructure development and sustainable economic growth.
The CAS highlighted the symbolic significance of the visit, particularly the presence of the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of BUA Group, Dr Ubon Udoh, a former Junior Airman and alumnus of the Air Force Military School, Jos. According to him, Dr Udoh’s achievements exemplify the enduring values of discipline, leadership and excellence instilled by the NAF and their lasting impact on national leadership and enterprise.
Air Marshal Aneke commended BUA Group for its substantial contributions to Nigeria’s industrial growth, infrastructure expansion, energy development and job creation. He stressed that sustainable economic development remains a key enabler of enduring peace and security, noting that national security and national development are mutually reinforcing.
He further outlined his Command Philosophy, which focuses on building a highly motivated, professional and mission-ready Air Force capable of delivering decisive airpower in support of national security objectives.
In this regard, he emphasised the NAF’s openness to mutually beneficial partnerships in areas such as innovation, infrastructure support, energy sustainability, logistics and corporate social responsibility initiatives aligned with operational and welfare priorities of the Service
Responding on behalf of the delegation, Dr Udoh expressed appreciation for the warm reception, describing the visit as a proud homecoming. He recalled that the values of discipline, integrity and excellence instilled during his formative years in the Air Force have continued to shape his leadership journey.
Dr Udoh reaffirmed BUA Group’s commitment to supporting initiatives that align with Nigeria’s national security and development goals. In his remarks, the CAS assured the delegation of the NAF’s professionalism, transparency and accountability in safeguarding national assets and investments, expressing optimism that the engagement would translate into practical areas of collaboration, particularly in infrastructure support, capacity development and alternative energy solutions, for the collective benefit of the nation.
