The Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, has been honoured by RazorNews Publications for his professionalism, integrity, and dedication to duty.
The Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of RazorNews, Mr. Odita Sunday, made the commendation on Tuesday in Awka during an official visit to the police spokesperson. The visit, he explained, was aimed at assessing the command’s level of preparedness for the forthcoming November 8 governorship election in the state.
Odita described SP Ikenga as an accomplished and distinguished police officer whose conduct and commitment to effective communication have significantly strengthened public confidence in the Anambra State Police Command.
He lauded Ikenga’s efforts in fostering a cordial relationship between the police and residents of the state, noting that such professionalism has continued to redefine the image of the Force.
The RazorNews boss also said the visit was part of a broader plan to explore strategic collaboration with the command and to obtain first-hand information on election security arrangements.
Responding, SP Ikenga expressed appreciation to Odita and the RazorNews team for their support and objective reportage of police activities in the state. He described the media as a dependable partner in promoting peace, order, and public safety.
Ikenga assured that the Anambra State Police Command, under the leadership of Commissioner of Police Ikioye Orutugu, has made adequate security arrangements for the forthcoming election.
According to him, the CP has embarked on wide-ranging advocacy meetings with critical stakeholders — including traditional rulers, religious and youth leaders — to ensure a peaceful, hitch-free poll.
He further disclosed that the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, has approved additional deployment of personnel from other states to support security operations during the election.
“The Anambra election is an off-season poll, meaning we will receive full support and enough manpower to guarantee adequate security across the state,” he stated.
Ikenga also noted that the command has toured all eight area commands and over fifty-four divisions across the state to engage with officers and ensure strategic deployment ahead of the election.
He added that the command had launched proactive operations to neutralize crime flashpoints and maintain peace before, during, and after the polls.
Highlight of the visit was the presentation of a commemorative plaque and copies of the latest edition of RazorNews magazine to SP Ikenga by Mr. Valentine Utulu, who represented the publisher at the event.
