Thank You to Our Troops Campaign: DEPOWA President Seeks Naval Support for Welfare Initiatives

The President of the Defence and Police Officers’ Wives Association (DEPOWA), Mrs. Oghogho Musa, on Monday paid a working visit to the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla, at the Naval Headquarters in Abuja.

The visit, held on September 1, was part of efforts to strengthen collaboration with the Nigerian Navy in support of DEPOWA’s ongoing intervention programmes, including its flagship initiative, “Thank You to Our Troops.”

In her remarks, Mrs. Musa reaffirmed the association’s commitment to enhancing the welfare of military personnel, their families, and host communities through empowerment projects, humanitarian outreaches, and advocacy campaigns.

She noted that the “Thank You to Our Troops” programme was designed to appreciate the sacrifices of servicemen and women while boosting their morale in the line of duty.

“We are here to thank the Chief of the Naval Staff for his support and to seek further collaboration in areas that will enable us to reach more families and communities,” she stated.

Responding, Vice Admiral Ogalla praised DEPOWA’s vision and dedication to the wellbeing of officers and their dependents. He described the “Thank You to Our Troops” initiative as “noble and timely,” adding that it would further encourage naval personnel to remain steadfast in their service to the nation.

The CNS assured Mrs. Musa of the Navy’s sustained support and partnership in advancing DEPOWA’s humanitarian and welfare programmes.
